Vehicle and Personal Safety Equipment

AROSC HPD is highly dedicated to safety. High speed driving on a race track presents inherent dangers. To ignor them is unacceptable. We don't want you, your car or any one else to be unduly endangered. Consequently we have a variety of safety requirements which must be satisfied prior to going on track. These requirements differ for HPDE, Time Trial and Race events. They include specifications for personal safety equipment and   vehicle safety equipment. There is also a tech/safety inspection requirement. Safety/Tech inspections must be preformed at an AROSC approved facility.

Even if you and your car meet these requirements, there is no guarantee that an accident will not happen. Also, it is your responsibility as a driver to follow the safety requirements and to drive responsibly.

Rules of the Road (Track)

Passing: In HPDE and Time Trials, passing is allowed only in designated starights. These will be identifed in the Driver's Meetings held each morning prior to anyone being allowed on track. Open passing is in effect for racers unless track conditions (flags) dictate otherwise.

Point-bys: Point-bys are required in HPDE and highly recommended in Time Trials. Remember, it is the responsibility of the overtaking car to execute a clean pass. However, the car being overtaken must not interfer with someone making a pass.

Passengers: HPDE driver may not take passengers unless the passenger is one of our instructors. Licensed Time Trial drivers may take passengers in practice sessions for instructional purposes. The passenger must be 18 years old or older, must sign a release and must ware a passenger arm band (ask at the event if you have questions). No passengers are allowed in Race.
